Family Health Insurance in Oldsmar
We help parents find one health plan that covers everyone, with the pediatrician you already use, a deductible you can handle and no gaps between coverage dates. You get plain answers and side-by-side options, and the consultation costs you nothing.

One plan, everyone protected
A family plan puts parents and children on a single policy with one premium, one renewal date and a shared out-of-pocket maximum. It is usually the right fit when you are self-employed, your job does not offer coverage, or the employer plan for dependents is priced out of reach.
Our first concern is that nobody in your family ends up uncovered. Before we suggest anything, we check that each person's doctors are in network, that the regular medications are on the plan's list, and that the start date lines up with any coverage that is ending. A cheap plan that leaves your child's specialist out of network is not a safe choice, and we will tell you so.
We work with clients across Oldsmar and nearby towns like Palm Harbor, Westchase and Safety Harbor, at our office or by phone and video.
What we check for your family
- Doctor and pediatrician lookup
- We search each plan's network for the doctors your family sees now. If a favorite pediatrician is missing, you know before you sign up, not at the next checkup.
- Medication coverage
- We look up ongoing medications on each plan's drug list and note which tier they fall in, since that decides what you pay at the pharmacy counter.
- Deductible and out-of-pocket math
- We explain how the family deductible works on each plan, including whether one person's costs can meet their own deductible first. Then we compare the yearly worst case, not just the monthly premium.
- Tax credit check
- Many families qualify for premium tax credits based on family income and size. We help you estimate yours so you are not overpaying or caught off guard at tax time.
- Side-by-side carrier options
- You see plans from multiple carriers laid out together, with the tradeoffs spelled out in plain words.
- Add-on coverage when it fits
- Some families want extra protection. We can talk through dental insurance, vision insurance or accident insurance for active kids, only if it makes sense for you.
When your family's coverage deserves a fresh look
A baby or an adoption
Welcoming a child by birth or adoption starts a special enrollment window, typically 60 days. Getting them on the plan quickly keeps those first visits covered.
Coverage from work is ending
Gaps tend to open after a layoff, a new job or the end of a spouse's work plan. We line up the start of your new plan so there is no break in coverage.
Covering dependents is too expensive
When putting your spouse and children on a work plan takes a large bite out of each paycheck, a marketplace family plan may come out cheaper once tax credits apply.
Unexpected bills over the past year
Charges from out-of-network care, or a deductible you never got near, suggest the plan did not match the way your family actually uses care.
A short-term plan up for renewal
Short-term plans may leave out pre-existing conditions and limit benefits. If your family depends on one, compare it against a full plan before it renews.
How a family consultation works
- 1
A short first call
You tell us who needs coverage, their ages, any coverage that is ending and what matters most. We note doctors and medications to check.
- 2
We do the research
We compare plans from several carriers against your list, and we estimate any tax credit your family may qualify for. This is where we screen out plans with network or coverage gaps.
- 3
A side-by-side review
We walk you through the best few options by phone, video or at our office. You see premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket limits next to each other, and you can ask about anything.
- 4
Enrollment and follow-up
Once you choose, we help with enrollment and confirm the start date. If ID cards are slow to arrive or a first bill looks wrong, you can call us and we will help sort it out.

The pieces that set your family's premium
A family premium comes from a handful of plain factors, and on ACA plans none of them involve anyone's health history. Seeing them explains why two families on one street can pay very different amounts. Working with us is free, since the company you pick pays us instead of you.
- How old everyone is
- Every person on the plan is priced by age. ACA plans charge for no more than the three oldest children under 21, so bigger families are not billed for each child.
- Tier and type of network
- Bronze plans come with smaller premiums and bigger deductibles, and gold plans do the reverse. An HMO tends to cost less than a PPO but keeps you inside its network.
- Your income, family size and tax credits
- The income you expect this year and the size of your family decide how much premium tax credit you get. Some families also qualify for reduced deductibles on silver plans.
- Use of tobacco
- Carriers are allowed to charge adults who use tobacco a higher rate, so we ask about it to keep your estimate accurate.
- Your county
- Plan choices and prices differ from county to county, so we compare only what is really available to your family where you live.
What families ask us most
Something not covered here? (813) 565-9202
What time of year can we enroll in a family plan?
The yearly open enrollment window starts in the fall and stretches into January. Any other time, you need a qualifying event like a birth, a marriage, a move or losing other coverage. You typically get 60 days after that event, so call us shortly after it happens.
Is it possible for my children and me to have separate plans?
It is. In some families one parent stays on a work plan and the kids go on a marketplace plan, or it runs the opposite way. We price out both arrangements so you can see which is cheaper overall while everyone keeps solid coverage.
Until what age can our kids stay on the family plan?
In general, children can remain on a parent's plan up to age 26, whether or not they are married, enrolled in school or living elsewhere. Once they age off, we can help them pick individual health insurance so coverage keeps going without a break.
Is children's dental part of a family plan?
Dental for kids counts as an essential benefit, though it is sometimes sold as its own plan instead of being included. We look at how each option treats it and whether dental insurance for the adults is worth the added cost.
Do you charge anything for your help?
The consultation is free. We are paid by the carrier you pick, so your premium matches what you would pay enrolling alone. Both the plan comparison and the help signing up cost you nothing.
