A Local Agency That Takes Coverage Seriously
Private Health Insurance Oldsmar helps people and families choose health coverage they understand before they rely on it. We work with self-employed clients, early retirees not yet on other coverage, families between jobs and anyone who simply wants a second look at what they are paying for.
Our approach is careful and calm. We would rather spend an extra ten minutes confirming that a specialist is in network than have you learn about it from a bill. You can meet us at our office or talk by phone or video, whichever is easier for your schedule.

Coverage We Help You Choose
We are a licensed independent insurance agency, so we are not tied to one carrier and can lay several plans next to each other. We help with individual health insurance, family health insurance and ACA Marketplace plans, and we add dental insurance, vision insurance or accident insurance when they fill a real gap. Each service page explains what that coverage does and does not pay for.

Individual Health Insurance
Coverage for one person, compared across carriers and checked for network, medication and deductible gaps before you enroll.

Family Health Insurance
One plan that covers parents and kids, checked for the doctors, medications and deductibles your family actually needs before you enroll.
ACA Marketplace Plans
We help you pick a Marketplace plan, size your tax credit correctly and check doctor networks before you enroll, at no cost to you.
Dental Insurance
Dental plans checked against your dentist, your waiting-period needs and the work you expect this year, so the coverage holds up when you use it.
Vision Insurance
We compare vision plans for exams, frames and contacts, confirm your eye doctor is in network, and tell you plainly whether a plan is worth paying for.
Accident Insurance
Supplemental accident coverage that pays you a set cash benefit after a covered injury, to help with deductibles, copays and the bills that keep coming.
What Happens in a Consultation
It is easier than most people expect. Here is how it goes once you call us.
- 1
A quick first talk
We find out who needs a plan, which doctors you want to stay with, the medications you take and a monthly cost you are comfortable with. If you have coverage now, keep the card or summary handy.
- 2
Plans laid out next to each other
We gather plans from several carriers and put premiums, deductibles, networks and drug coverage in one view. Anything that could leave you unprotected gets pointed out.
- 3
Your questions, then the application
We review the choices with you at our office or by phone and video, as slowly as you like. Once you decide, we complete the application together on the call and go over each answer with you before it is sent.
- 4
A check-in when life changes
Moving, marrying, having a baby or starting a new job can open a special enrollment period. Tell us, and we will look at whether your plan still fits.
What Shapes Your Premium and Costs
Health insurance pricing is not a mystery once you see the pieces. The monthly premium is only one part; what you pay when you use care matters just as much. These are the main things that move the numbers.
We give you side-by-side figures from the carriers for the plans that fit you, with premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums shown together. You decide only after seeing the full picture.
- Age and who is covered
- Premiums rise with age, and each person added to a plan adds to the total. Family coverage is priced by the members on the plan, which is why we look at each family member's needs separately.
- Income and subsidy eligibility
- For ACA Marketplace plans, your expected yearly income can qualify you for a tax credit that lowers the premium. Some incomes also qualify for cost-sharing reductions on silver plans, which lower deductibles and copays.
- Metal tier and deductible
- Bronze plans usually carry lower premiums and higher deductibles, while gold plans flip that. The right tier depends on how often you expect to see doctors and how much you could pay at once if something serious happened.
- Network type
- HMO, EPO and PPO plans differ in whether you need referrals and whether out-of-network care is covered at all. Broader networks usually cost more each month.
- Tobacco use and location
- Carriers may charge more for tobacco users, and plan prices and choices vary by where you live within Florida.
- Medications and regular care
- If you take ongoing medications or see specialists, we check how each plan lists those drugs and visits. A plan with a slightly higher premium can cost less over a full year.
What Clients Get From Working With Us
Think of a health plan as a safety net. It helps to know exactly where its gaps are, and for us safety first means looking at the details before you enroll, not once a bill shows up.
Your providers come before the premium
A cheap monthly rate does not help if your doctor or the hospital near you is out of network. For every plan we show you, we look up the providers you already see, so your next appointment holds no surprises.
We go through the details together
What you really pay comes down to the deductible, copays, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximum. We explain each in everyday language and show you what a plan does not cover, including where plans that are not full major medical coverage fall short.
Free advice with no sales push
The consultation is free. The company you pick pays us, so having us look costs you nothing. And if the plan you have now still fits, we will say so.
Support after you sign up
A denied claim or a missing ID card brings up questions. Call the same office, and we will help you make sense of the carrier's message and what to ask them next.
Careful with your personal details
We request only the information a quote or application requires and tell you why we need it. Nothing goes to a carrier until you have looked it over and agreed.

Questions Clients Bring to Us
- Is there a fee to talk with you?
- No. We are paid by the carrier you choose, and your premium is the same whether you sign up through an agent or by yourself.
- Can I still enroll once open enrollment is over?
- Usually only after a qualifying life event, such as moving, getting married, having a baby or losing other coverage. That opens a special enrollment period, typically 60 days long. Florida's Marketplace open enrollment generally runs from November 1 to January 15.
- How do I know my doctor takes the plan?
- Give us the names of your doctors, clinics and hospitals, and we search each plan's network for them before recommending it. Networks can change from year to year, so it pays to check again at renewal.
- Is there help available for my monthly premium?
- For many people, yes. Marketplace tax credits depend on the income you expect this year and the number of people on your tax return. We estimate yours together on the call, so you can see the premium after any credit.
- Are dental and vision included in health plans?
- Marketplace plans include dental and vision for children, but adults generally need separate plans for each. We can set dental insurance and vision insurance options beside your health plan so no gap gets missed.
- What does accident insurance do, and should I have it?
- Accident insurance pays you a set cash amount after a covered injury, which you can use for a deductible or everyday bills. It does not replace a full health plan. We suggest it only when an unexpected deductible would be hard to cover.
- Can we meet in person?
- Yes. Visit our office, or meet with us by phone or video if that is easier. Many clients start with a call and finish the application on video so they can see each screen as we go.
